La photographie est ma passion depuis l'enfance. J'ai suivi des cours et des ateliers de photographie dans différents établissements, notamment au Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design à Londres et, à l'agence Magnum Photo à Hong Kong. J'ai travaillé comme photographe indépendant pour les prestigieux studios français Harcourt à Hong Kong. Je me concentre principalement sur les portraits et la photographie de rue, et j'aime combiner les deux. Je suis également un photographe passionnée de voyages.

Grâce à mon travail avec les Studios Harcourt, j'ai une connaissance approfondie du travail avec la lumière et avec les caractéristiques physiques des modèles pour les montrer sous leur meilleur jour. Je suis particulièrement inspirée par la beauté que recèle chaque femme. Nous avons toutes nos points forts, nos cicatrices et nos petites folies, peu importe ce que la vie nous a réservé. C'est ce qui nous rend si uniques, si intéressantes, si belles.

Je suis revenue m’installer à Paris, ma ville natale, en 2019 après avoir passé 28 ans à l'étranger (Londres et Hong Kong). Je suis l’heureuse mère de trois enfants.

Photography has been a passion of mine since childhood. I took photography classes/workshops at various venues, including Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design in London and more recently with Magnum Photo Agency in Hong Kong. I worked as a freelance photographer for the prestigious French Studios Harcourt in Hong Kong. My main focus is on portraits, street photography and I enjoy combining both. I am also a keen travel photographer.

Thanks to my work with the Studios Harcourt, I have a deep understanding of working with light and with physical features of models to show them at their very best. I am particularly inspired by the beauty embedded in every woman. We all have our strengths, scars and little madness no matter what life threw at us. This is what makes us so unique, so interesting, so beautiful.

I am the proud mother of three kids and have moved back to my home town Paris in 2019 after spending 28 years abroad (London and HK).

Biography

1994: Sophie Rouillon graduates with a master degree in Computing Science from Imperial College, London.

2002-2003: Photography courses at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London.

2004: Departure for Hong-Kong.

2014 : Starts photography business “Sophie Rouillon Photography”.

2015 : Magnum Workshop with photographer Thomas Dworzak. The portfolio is available under “prosperous business” portfolio.

2016-2017 : Works as a professional photographer for Harcourt Studios in Hong Kong.

2016-2018 : Photo auction for the annual LFI Gala (Lycée Français International, Hong-Kong).

May 2019 : Collective art exhibition « Beyond Borders », for “les Enfants du Mekong” NGO, part of the French May Art Festival in Hong-Kong.

November 2019 : Photo auction for the PSE (Pour un Sourire d’Enfant) Gala dinner in Hong-Kong.

2019 : Departure for Paris, France.

2021: Third price at the international art competition “Art4Competition” for the work entitled “OPEN HEART” in the Photography category.

2021-2022: Photos auctions on Catawiki digital platform; represented by curators Mabille & Chaumette.

2022: “Regards Insolites” exhibition at the S.une GALERIE - Le SELECT, Paris.
